Environment Evangelism
Related to country: Uganda

Man cannot live without interacting with Nature.
But nature can prevail even without makind.
We have failed to protect nature but insteady continue to degrade it in the name of production and economic growth.
We need to remember that God the Master Creator entrusted us with all He created to be good stewards, but not to plunder.

The LORD is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.

All you have made will praise you, O LORD;
your saints will extol you.

They will tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,

so that all men may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

Psalm 145:9-12

How many are touched by nature’s God in this way? And how many of us are insensitive to it as we carry on from week to week in churches that may be repelling such susceptible souls by our collective insensitivities to the awesome wonders of the creation that surround us. I often feel that the parts of the creation that were not made in the Creator’s image are sometimes better witnesses than we who are. This should not be.
(extracted from WOC)

Please it is high time we entegrated environment evangelisn in our biblical teachings to the congregation.
This will hopefully send the message to the masses who may otherwise not be aware of their domestic roles in protecting their environment.

PLEASE IS EVERY MEMBER OF YOUR CHURCH AWARE OF THE FORTH COMING SUMMIT ON CLIMATIC CHANGE (COPENHAGEN DEC. 2009)

Please make them all aware of the summit.

Environment evangelism is still new in Uganda
and we welcome any comments and advise.

THE VULNERABLE AGE
Related to country: Uganda

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Experience is indeed the best teacher. Did you know the vulnerable age where if not well handed you would looseit all?
This is the adolscent age. This is where many biological/genetic things happen to that young boy or girl.Or simply this is the time when your own body prepares you to become WOMAN in case girl, and to become a MAN in case of a boy.
This is where the battle starts which some of us are trying to mitigate now.
Ask these teanagers when such unwanted habits began, the answer will more often reflect adolescence.
I w'd like to say that if we are to win the war on AIDS/HIV, drug abuse, infantcide, alcoholism, and other unwanted social behaviours then the fight with the culprit should start as early as at adolescent stage.
We need to involve these young people in the projects thst mould them into good and future citizens tham waiting to treat them after falling victims.
Allow me to inform you that i have a small project called Community Adolescents Care(CAC) where these rather young people are organised into friendly activities, offered training and education.
We believe in partnerships in order to improve.

Global Climate Conference
Related to country: Uganda

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

I would like to encourage the youth to be more vigilant as the take part in the conference.
Today our leaders are behaving like the game rangers as well as game poachers.
whereas they are supposed to be the custodians of the nation's natural resouces, they have not done much to that nobal constitutional role.
Politicians should be held responsible for the environmental problems our contries are experiencing.
As for the youths we need to enherit the earth as our grand parents entrusted it to parents who of now are posing as politicians.
The nature nature can do without MANKIND.
But Mankind cannot do without nature.Politicians need to know that good environmental practice is also good business.
Man in the name development will be "man against himself",since all the gains which come with development would be swarted by enviromnental costs.
The youths will be hit most as the will the future culprits of poor environmental stewardship.
In my country Uganda the main cause of env.degration is the poor means of servival by the poor.
Deforestation, bush burning, overgrazing poor methods of farming, among others are all adding greatly to the degradation of our environment.
The poor who are at" point of death" are not interested in any conservation messages as they are not sure of tomorrow.
therefore all conservation efforts need to involve poverty eradication programmes if they are to take root in most poor contries.
Environmental education need to be made a must right from primary schools for the grassroot to be well iformed.
Please we suppot you and wish you well
